Every year on Mother's Day, I struggle to think of something to write. So this year, I decided to let the Bible write a Mother's Day blog post for me! Here is a collection of some beautiful verses I found regarding Mother's Day:
God is in the center of her. She will not be moved. God will help her when the morning comes. (NLV) - Psalm 46:5 Though this verse is actually talking about Israel, I still love it because it is true regarding women also! A women who loves God will have God at the center of her and she will not be moved.
Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” - Luke 1:45 (NIV)
Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” - Proverbs 31:28-29 (NLT)
Honor goes to kind and gracious women, - Proverbs 11:16a (TLB) I actually like the rest of this verse too. The full verse reads, "Honor goes to kind and gracious women, mere money to cruel men." There's something to be said about honor. The woman who is kind and gracious will be blessed above cruel people who look like they are doing well but only have "mere" wealth and no honor.
Blessings on all who reverence and trust the Lord—on all who obey him! Their reward shall be prosperity and happiness. Your wife shall be contented in your home. And look at all those children! There they sit around the dinner table as vigorous and healthy as young olive trees. That is God’s reward to those who reverence and trust him. May the Lord continually bless you with heaven’s blessings as well as with human joys. May you live to enjoy your grandchildren! And may God bless Israel! - Psalm 128 (TLB)
Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; And she smiles at the future [knowing that she and her family are prepared]. - Proverbs 31:25 (AMP) Other translations read, "She is unafraid of the future," or "She laughs at the future." How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! - Psalm 139:17 (NLT) Isn't it amazing that God has precious thoughts about us personally?
Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on jewelry, or beautiful clothes, or hair arrangement. Be beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God. - 1 Peter 3:3-4 Inward beauty is precious to God.
I am the Lord your God; I strengthen you and tell you, ‘Do not be afraid; I will help you.’ - Isaiah 41:13
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. - Psalm 139:15-16 (NLT) God knows every detail about us even before we were born. Isn't it amazing that He loves us to that degree?
